Curriculum Coordinator / Title 1

Meg Peterson
This school year marks my nineteenth year in education!  I graduated from Rivier College, now Rivier University, in 2001 with both my Elementary Education and General Special Education certifications.  I was hired by the Hudson, NH school district as a fourth grade teacher and spent three wonderful years teaching phenomenal nine and ten-year-olds there!  After moving to Milford in 2003, I became a fourth grade teacher at Heron Pond in 2004- a position in which I remained for six years.  During that time I earned my Master of Education in Learning Disabilities from Rivier and loved every moment of being a classroom teacher in Milford.  In 2010, I was hired as the Title I Coordinator for the district, giving me the fantastic opportunity to work at both Jacques and Heron Pond and to expand my understanding Pre K through 5th grade.  It also afforded me the opportunity to be a part of our students' educational career from their first day of kindergarten through their last day of fifth grade- how lucky was I?  Throughout that time, I earned my certification as a Curriculum Administrator and returned to Rivier to complete my certification as a School Principal.
This year, I began a new position as the Curriculum & Title I Coordinator for Heron Pond.  In this new role, I am able to work with Heron Pond's superb staff in moving students through the elementary curriculum standards and competencies.  I am also able to continue my coordination of the Heron Pond Title I Program.   I am so fortunate to work with such amazing colleagues each and every day!
Milford is not just where I work, it is also the community that I call home.  My husband and I moved to Milford in 2003 and grew our family here.  Our two children are students at Milford Middle School.
I look forward to working with all our Heron Pond students and families!
