Good Evening Heron Pond Families,

I hope you are well.   We had a great week here at Heron Pond.  Looking ahead to next week, our 4th grade New Hampshire Expo event will take place on Thursday, May 25th.  The 4th grade teachers will share more information and detail around this with their classes.

This year we will again run our annual Bikes for Books event.  There is a letter attached that outlines the program and submissions for books can start to be submitted using the link below.

The PTO is in need of several people that would be willing to join and be a part of the PTO board.  Below is a PDF that lists the open positions and the steps to take if you have interest or questions about any of the positions we need.  The PTO has done an incredible job with fundraising and organizing events that all directly benefit the students at Heron Pond.

Weekly Wrap Up May 1, 2023

Good Evening Heron Pond Families,

I hope you are well.  We had a great first day back from break.  We are looking forward to a 5th grade field trip on Wednesday to the Fisher Cats Education Day event.  Later this week our 5th grade students will have a presentation about chorus and band by students and staff from Milford Middle School.  The purpose of this is to help students decide if either of these are classes they might be interested in.  We will have a short performance in the afternoon for grade 5 by the Milford High School Jazz band to close the week.

Please know that the window for ordering yearbooks has closed.

Weekly Wrap Up April 21, 2023

Good Evening Heron Pond Families,

I hope you are well.  April vacation has arrived.  In my experience the last stretch after this break goes by in a flash.  With that being said we have a lot of activities going on between now and the end of the year.  This week we had 2 great music shows.  I would like to thank the 4th grade teachers and Ms. Chaplin and Mr. Joyal for their efforts in preparing the shows.  Both nights were very well attended and the students did great.  Below are a few items with links for you to access the information about each of them.  The first is about the upcoming Teacher Appreciation Week.  The second is about placement for next school year.  Please know that the deadline to submit input for placement is next Friday, April 28th.  The last is our Bikes for Books event.

During the vacation week we have a lot of work being done at Heron Pond.  Concrete replacement, fire alarm work, and water flushing is taking place.  As a result, the building will only be accessible by appointment.  Please call the school between 8 - 2:30 at 603-673-1811 if you need to speak with someone or if you need to come to the school for anything.

Teacher appreciation week is coming up after break.  Below is a link to a signup genius for items that the PTO is looking to collect to share with teachers throughout the week.

Teacher Appreciation Week Information

Below is a link to this year’s placement letter.  Each year we offer parents and guardians the opportunity to provide us with insight into their students from their perspective.  The letter explains what types of information we accept and find helpful in determining the best placement for your child.  I would ask that you please read it carefully before sending in any input.  The letter outlines how to send us your input.  Please note the deadline for submitting any input for placement is Friday, April 28th.  Our process is long and done with a lot of input and thought from staff throughout the building.  We will consider all input that is received by the deadline in accordance with the letter.
